Tarpon Eat using the Kodak Playsport and sunglasses for polarize filter
1.31.2011
This was shot down in Duck Key during the shoot for 2011 Saltwater Experience TV show. I shot all the footage on the $150.00 kodak playsport(actually $108 right now at Amazon.com). I used my sunglasses over the lens as a polarize filter. This way you can actually see in the water.
Here you see Rich Tudor poling Tom Rowland Around. There were tarpon every where that refused to eat. We finally found one that took the fly. One of their best shows imho.
This was shot in 720 in 60fps mode for better slow motion.
Kyle Maynard and the SWE 2011 shoot down in Hawks Cay
August 8th 2010
I really don’t know what to say that hasn’t been said already about Kayle Maynard. I was fortunate enough to meet Kyle last week at the Salterwater Experience 2011 shoot. A very inspiring individual. I will let the excerpt from his website say the rest.
“Traffic jams, bills, bad weather, and work are things everyone complains about, but Kyle Maynard doesn’t complain. Born without arms or legs below his elbows and knees, he excels as a champion athlete, motivational speaker, author, model, and entrepreneur.
A 2004 ESPY award winner, Kyle has appeared as a guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King Live, ABC’s 20/20, Good Morning America, the CBS Early Show. He has also appeared on HBO Real Sports, and as a cover story in USA Today. Kyle continues to inspire others as the author of his autobiography, No Excuses (2005), a New York Times Best Seller….”

Hawk’s Cay Stay Aug 2010
Aug 3rd 2010
The lats couple days I’m down at Hawk’s Cay. The fishing hasn’t been great but the weather sure has been. I’m down here my friend David McCleaf and we took the boat out and did some exploring and scouted for some nice lobster hole for when the season opens up again later this month. Here are some images from the last couple days.

Saltwater Experience sunset Tarpon shoot
I recently accepted an invite from Tom and Rich of Saltwater Experience to ride out on their camera boat and shoot some still images during the filming of a sunset Tarpon show. Being an avid tarpon fly fisherman, bait fishing was something somewhat foreign to me but admitedly, watching a tarpon come up and crush a mullet struggling on the surface was a pretty cool sight. I was caught off guard during several cool scenes that would have made for great photos but I guess other opportunities on the water will give me another chance to capture the particular image I seek. Nonetheless, it was a good time hanging out and dinner that evening at Almas, located inside Hawks Cay Resort was absolutely stellar.
Here are a few photos from the SWE shoot.
Sunset Time Lapse video, Hawk’s Cay, Duck Key
May 28th 2010
While I was down at Hawk’s Cay marina this week I got lucky and got a balcony room that didn’t have a screen on it. I took advantage of the this by testing out my time lapse feature on the camera. I shot this on a tripod take a few frames ever 10 seconds for a loooooong time.
This a a video of 2 sunsets. Each of these took like 3 to 7 hours to complete all compressed down to a 3.5 minute video. It’s not perfect so I’m still trying to figure a few things out. However this is a cool feature I can add to future videos productions.

Hawk’s Cay, Saltwater experience shoot for 2011
May 25th 2011
I’m down here at Hawk’s Cay shooting stills for the 2011 Season of Saltwater Experience TV show.
Today they took the 36′ yellowfin out and got into some nice Mahi Mahi action. The action was so good they started to catch them on fly. We then moved in later on the day and got into some permit action within 5miles out of Hawk’s Cay.
I also got the dive with the Mahi and Permit which was way cool. They will be using the video underwater footage in the show.
I’m a little beat since were offshore all day so apologies for the short update.
Here are some photos I manage to edit before heading to bed. Tomorrow have to be at the dock by 545am.
