Bass and Bridge fishing for a change of pace, Black Sea Bass

Last week the weather was not very nice to those of us with smaller boats. The winders were a constant 15 mph gusting to almost 25mph. It just was not very motivating to try to get on the water.

Bryan an neighbor of mine was on some nice bass and had hit me up on facebook. Though I’m not a big on bass fishing I needed he fix of catching some fish.

After a few questions of what, how, when and where I packed the gear with crank baits, magic swimmers, jigs and stick shad.

I bite was pretty good the first day with some good numbers especially fishing from land. The 2nd day the bite slowed but the quality fish, including my personal best of 6 lbs was landed.

The first day I had the most success on the magic swimmer cracking and pausing. The 2nd day the jig head using Exude Cigar Mino trout color and the DOA golden bream was the most productive patterns.

Yesterday I took the boat out finally to do some bridge fishing for pompano. We were largely unsuccessful however. inundated by catfish , jacks and zero pompano. The only fish of note was this nice black sea bass.
