Buried in Sand and saltwater, Daiwa Saltiga Mag Seal test in Montauk New York 9.23.2012

Daiwa was kind enough to let me borrow a reel for the trip to Montauk New York. The tell me me the mag seal was so good I can let it sit in saltwater want and sand. I told them I would do exactly that to the reel.

We fished the reel for 4 days. The first day I made sure to dunk it completely in Saltwater while fishing it. I got out and let it sit in for 5 to 10 minutes. I then dug a hole buried it and then got out on the water rinsed it with saltwater and casted it. I made it a point never to rinse the reel in freshwater allow the for the salt water to stay on it for the entire trip.

Next was to put into the luggage, still coated with salt for the flight back to Tampa. I unpacked the luggage to see if it was still smooth and recorded on my Iphone this morning.

Now it’s time to send it back.
