Montauk fall striper run 2012

So I am preparing to head to Montauk New York for the first time ever to fish this week. It’s for non other than the Montauk fall striper run. I have never caught a striper but apparently it is quite a big deal up in the North East of the country. These guys are passionate and they are hard core.

Hopefully I can capture some images that would be worthy enough to share with you guys. I will be bringing the underwater gear(packed nicely unlike the Bahamas trip) and all the still equipment. I will be traveling with Alberto Knie of Tactical angler. Though he resides in Naples he was a well known fisherman up north. He will be showing me around. This will be very cool and pretty excited.

Besides the camera I will bring 2 rods with me. One Fly rod and a Daiwa Saltiga spinning reel with the new Mag seal. This real cost over $1,000 and I borrowed it. They tell me it can be submerged in saltwater and it will be fine. I will be putting this theory to the test. I just hope if it fails they do not get mad at me or worst send me a bill! Yikes.
