I had a chance to get out for a few hours this morning with my old friend Edwin. The low tide made it a good day to use his Gheenoe. Arm with a 25 hp motor that thing really get up and go.
The weather was pretty spectacular before the next cold front was to came in. The bite was just so so but I never really expected and epic bite on blue bird days like these. We manage a few small redfish and some trout. We wanted to be finished by noon to grab a lunch and get things done. This actually worked out nice as by noon the winds really picked up on us.
The fish of the day came when Edwin got this nice cobia cruising the shallow flats. The fish came out of the water two times, rare for a cobia, which made me thought he had a big snook on.
