Maverick / Back Country Cup

April 2nd, 2010

Spring is here and with that, comes another great fishing tournamnet put on by Maverick Boat Company and The Back Country. This event will be a fly fishing only all release “slam” tournament. We will be targeting redfish, snook,trout and a sheepshead wildcard with the Grand Champion team determined by the highest total length from a combination of a single fish from each species scored. All are welcomed and invited! .

Captains meeting is April 1st, at 5:30 pm. It will be hosted at our store “The Back Country”.

Maverick Boat Co. and The Vero Backcountry fly shop are hosting another Fly fishing tournament in a couple of weeks.  The fish should be thawed out from the cold winter and ready to chew on some flies.  Those who came out last cold winter had a great time chucking flies at redfish, snook, seatrout, and sheepshead.  Vero Beach offers a great very overlooked fishery for those of us who chuck fur and feathers.  Come out and join us for this year’s event.
