“Hunting In The Garden”

During the frigid, windy days of winter in SW Florida, we take some time off the water and migrate to inland habitats to fulfill the hunting bug that is in all us outdoorsman! We are not only blessed with some of the most pristine waters of SW Fl, but allocated to some of the top hunting grounds that the state can provide! Some of you know I am an avid Turkey hunter, but cannot pass up the opportunity to unload on hogs and or get lucky enough to participate in a conservation season. My Father, Father-inlaw, Rich, I, and good friend Ben (Who’s Property we were on) set off to the woods for the weekend and it turned out to be a blast once again. I put my Father and Father-inlaw in the same truck as we made our way from the hard road to camp, which takes a good 30 min. It took us over an hour due to them stopping every 5 min to video or photograph the wildlife (Deer, Hogs, Turkey, Etc..). Being their first outing at this location, once at camp, the smiles from ear to ear proved they were somewhere they never knew existed in SW FL. The plan was…whatever you want…we had guys with bows only, rifles, shotguns, etc.. Once the rules were established, the morning was easy, stands, buggy, walk, etc.. We had some trouble with the buggy but a short 1.5 miles to back to camp and we were back on it. When the property is dry and the air is cool, being out there puts you in the moment and lets you re-charge the batteries from everyday life. I cherish every moment in the woods when it is that appealing! Here are a few photos from the weekend, enjoy for Tarpon season on Fly is just around the corner!!
