Mosquito Lagoon

For the past couple of weeks some friends and I have been focused on a few schools of BIG redfish that have been roaming the grassflats of the world famous Mosquito Lagoon. Finding them was no problem, getting them to eat flies and artificials was another story. After hours of chasing these BIG fish, we would try to relieve stress on smaller singles that are more willing to take a fly(sometimes). I’ve tied up some different crab patterns to try out and they seemed to like a pattern I call the “mutant crab”. Here are some photos of the past weeks trips with Eddie Olivares, Sam Root, and Andrew Mizell.
