Today, since it was 5mph winds I took the opportunity to head offshore with Robert Moore and his guest Scott Bicking. We had a late start as Robert had other commitments in the morning but we were fishing by 11:30am or so. On the first spot even though there were cudas everywhere fining on the surface like permit or something the bit was slow. The only thing we caught there were cudas and blue runners.
We made a move further offshore into blue water territory. We got the bite going and got into some keeper groupers, mangrove snappers and king fish. One of the kingfish was a smoker at around 40lbs. I jumped in the water to take some underwater photos which turned out ok.
We ran home about 4:30pm and it was still slick calm. Crossing my fingers hoping it stays like this for a bit.
