fireworks photos 2010, Tampa Channelside
Jan 1st 2010
Happy New Year everyone! Last night I was fortunate enough to get a cool vantage point looking over the fireworks in Tampa at my friend’s John’s place. Here are 4 photos of the fireworks from last night. I have about 20 of them but didn’t want to clutter up the “what’s new page”. I put the rest in slide show format via experimenting with a Flash Gallery.
Photo note: The photos were shot on a tripod using 3 to 8 second exposure at f16. I used a Nikon D300 with and lens set at 17mm.

Low Tide, big time
Happy New Year! It’s been about a month or more since I have had a post. With all the family in town for the holidays mixed in with all the hunting I have been doing it has been tough to get out and fish. I was able to fit in a day of fishing the other morning though. I fished with my buddy Kevin in his gheenoe for some super shallow reds. I have fly gear but I am surely not the best at it, however I brought it in hopes of a shot a some reds. I was able to cast to two but no such luck. There was no shortage of reds or trout but nothing would eat early, I am guessing it was because the tide was slack. After a little bit of water came in we walked the gheenoe back to a little creek that opens up to a nice bay. The tide really started rolling in at this point and it was like a switch turned on for the fish, finally we were getting good strikes and were able to nab a few fish. On the way home we had a small mishap. The ride back to the ramp was about a good 20 minutes and when we were almost there I noticed the push pole was gone. We had to turn around head all the way back to where we started and we found the push pole lodged up in the mangroves. Lucky for us no one snatched it up. Here’s a few shots from the trip
